Role Type: Full time. Due to the nature of this position, candidates must be able to work a hybrid schedule.

Salary: $43,000 - $73,000 per year + annual bonus

Actual compensation offered will be determined individually, based on a number of job-related factors, including location, skills, experience, and education.

Summary:

The Risk Analyst I (“Analyst”) will be assisting in the build out of Osaic's risk management program.  The Analyst will complete assigned projects, with direction and guidance from the direct supervisor, that enhance documentation of key risks and accompanying controls.  Analyst will engage with subject matter experts to create workflow mapping and understand key business processes in developing risk metrics and reporting to senior leadership.   The ability to meet with business leaders, learn new processes, document those processes, and identify key risks and gaps in controls is critical to the role.

The Analyst will report directly to the Director of Enterprise Risk Management.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to learn business processes of business units under review and be able to provide guidance on risk controls design.  Provide guidance regarding "Three Lines of Defense" risk control framework. (20%)
  • Ability to produce process flow maps (in Vizio) showing key decision points and ownership of specific steps within the process. (20%)
  • Ability to meet the business managers, ask questions, listen, and record high risks of the business unit.  Consult on build out of risk management framework to map key business risks to accompanying controls and method of assessment of control effectiveness. (20%)
  • Assessment of data to determine control effectiveness, trends, and "red flag" events. (15%)
  • Ability to create monthly metric reporting for specific risk programs and be able to "tell the story" to managers and senior leaders. (15%)
  • Review of applicable regulations and written regulatory guidance applicable to business unit (or risk program).  Ability to assess if written supervisory procedures and firm policies adequately address regulatory requirements and key business risks. (10%)

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, or related field required.

Basic Requirements:

  • Entry level (0 to 1 year) of previous work experience
  • Ability to pay attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times                                                                                   
  • Possess logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.                                                       
  • Ability to communicate with others to convey information effectively as well as communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.  
  • Basic knowledge of financial services industry trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations and trendsetters; ability to provide specific financial knowledge and experience to help organizational development.                                                             
  • Ability to come up with unusual or clever ideas about a given topic or situation, or to develop creative ways to solve a problem.                                                       
  • Ability developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time. Job requires being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude.                                                  
  • Administration of own time and the time of others and the ability to shift back and forth between two or more activities or sources of information.                             
  • Knowledge of functions, features and applications of Microsoft Office; ability to use the cross-functional features of its applications to enhance overall organizational efficiency.

Preferred Requirements:

  • SQL, Power BI, or other similar certifications in data analytics is preferred.
