Salary:            $80,000 - $90,000 per year + annual bonus

Summary:

We are looking for a driven, independent thinker, with excellent customer service skills to join our Data Center Services team to help manage our data center equipment, virtual and physical systems, with a concentration on VMware virtualization solutions and Dell servers.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain all aspects of data center equipment:  racks, cabling, power, environment monitors, servers, storage devices, and all associated inventory.

  • Perform all duties associated with the Data Center Services team, as directed by Data Center Services leadership.

  • Design, deploy, manage, and maintain Osaic’s VMware virtualization solution through the system life cycle.

  • Design, deploy, manage, and maintain Osaic’s physical server solutions through the system life cycle.

  • Manage and maintain Windows and Linux operating systems, relative to physical or virtual server management tasks.

  • Perform troubleshooting to resolve performance issues or system outages.

  • Create and maintain system and platform documentation related to design, deployment, and system life cycle tasks.

  • Perform regular updates and security vulnerability remediation tasks.

  • Continually enhance alert and system monitoring.

  • Aid in the research, development, and deployment of new technologies and multi-vendor integration. 

  • Implement and maintain a consistent backup and disaster recovery plan.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associate’s degree with significant applicable experience will be considered.

Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience designing and implementing VMware data center virtualization solutions, using VMware Aria Operations.

  • 5 years of experience managing all life cycle events of physical servers and installing and cabling systems in a data center.

  • 3 years of experience installing and configuring Windows or Linux server operating systems, as well as using monitoring tools utilizing ICMP, SNMP, WMI, and other APIs.

  • 3 years of experience managing Windows operating systems using Group Policy and scripting languages to automate routine processes using Python or PowerShell.

  • Functional knowledge of Active Directory.

  • Functional knowledge of network communication at all levels of the open systems interconnection (OSI) model; particularly Ethernet, IP, TCP/UDP, and Session.

  • Relevant industry certifications:  

  • CompTIA: A+, Server+, or Network+.

  • VMware: VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Work on a regular and predictable basis.

  • Organize, prioritize and handle multiple tasks.

  • Pay close attention to detail.

  • Work independently and with minimal supervision.

  • Communicates well with customers, co-workers, and various business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.

  • Can work some nights and weekends.

Preferred Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience managing enterprise class storage systems; controllers, SAN, and NAS.

  • 2 years of experience managing a virtual desktop infrastructure using a VMware platform.

  • 2 years of experience managing non-persistent desktops in a virtual infrastructure.

  • 2 years of experience managing virtual infrastructure in a Horizon environment.

  • 2 years of experience managing and configuring a Windows based hardware cluster.
