Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 per year + Sales Incentive Compensation

Summary:
The SVP, Head of Life Brokerage will be responsible for leading the strategic direction, growth, and performance of Highland’s life insurance brokerage business within the Brokerage channel with a focus on supporting and expanding relationships with independent agents. This role will oversee the Brokerage Sales VPs, distribution strategy, and operational alignment to drive revenue, enhance advisor engagement, and ensure a best-in-class experience for independent producers.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the life insurance brokerage channel, setting strategic goals and driving execution to grow production and revenue across the division
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with top-producing independent agents and agencies, providing high-level support and partnership to salespeople assigned to those accounts
- Monitor sales metrics and KPI’s and adjust strategies to meet pre-defined targets
- Develop and implement and execute consistent sales strategies tailored to the needs of independent producers, including product positioning, marketing initiatives and competitive differentiation across the Brokerage Sales team
- Provide leadership and mentorship to internal VPs and support team, fostering high performance culture focused on accountability and results
- Develop a producer program for the top-producing advisor community
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure a seamless and efficient sales process that aligns with company objectives
- Monitor and manage departmental budgets, expenses, and profitability metrics
- Represent the Brokerage channel in executive leadership discussions and contribute to enterprise-wide distribution strategy
- Champion innovation and continuous improvements in tools, technology, and service models to enhance the agent experience
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree Required
- Life & Health Insurance License
- FINRA Series 6 and 63
Basic Requirements:
- Work experience in sales or sales management role
- 15+ years of experience in the life insurance industry, with a strong background in brokerage distribution
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trust across diverse stakeholders
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and decision-making capabilities
- Demonstrated success in performance management, coaching and team development
- Familiarity with CRM/Sales Force software
- Results oriented with a history of driving growth and profitability
- Adaptable leader with experience navigating organizational change
- Excellent relationship management skills
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience collaborating directly with independent agents and brokerage general agencies (BGA’s)
