Salary:    $110,000 - $120,000 per year + Sales Incentive Commission

Summary:

The VP of Sales Support must be a high achieving analytical thinker that will provide leadership, direction, and sustenance to the Sales Support managers across all product lines while enabling and equipping their teams to provide outstanding service to Highland’s Sales VP’s and Advisor Consultants across all Distribution teams. The individual must be a strong leader with solid communication skills, can build relationships with direct reports, Sales Leaders, Carrier distribution partners, management, and advisors. The role requires an understanding of the sales process and the ability to manage and develop the Sales Support team to their full potential while implementing changes and strategies for future success.

Responsibilities:

  • Focus on developing training and providing education for the Sales Support teams in collaboration with the Sales Support Managers
  • Support Sales VP’s and Advisor Consultants in an efficient manner to allow them to continue to serve advisors and clients with the best insurance planning solutions
  • Assist in uncovering hidden sales opportunities
  • Collaborate with the Advance Planning team on case design and partner with financial professionals to assist them in expanding their business
  • Possess skills in case design and product analysis by playing a critical role in helping design customized insurance solutions with in-depth product analysis for use by the various Distribution Channels
  • Specialize in the design and planning for high-net-worth individuals by leveraging all the Highland resources to provide additional value
  • Communicate complex information regarding case design and in-depth product solutions to help contribute to the success of the Sales VP’s and their financial advisors
  • Conduct data analysis and research to identify business opportunities that can generate more revenue and in turn increase the company’s profitability
  • Track KPI’s for the Sales Support Teams to pre-determined goals and how performance impacts the business as a whole
  • Determine ways to measure illustration conversion rates and leads generated
  • Report on Sales Support Activity using Sales Force (CRM system)
  • Be the subject matter expert in product, carrier, and industry information and maintain knowledge of industry trends, new technologies, and resources
  • Evaluate tools and resources used in the sales support function and make recommendations for improvements
  • Create, implement, and review processes to improve and generate efficiencies amongst the team
  • At all times have in depth knowledge of the Life Insurance marketplace and all current carrier software
  • Coach and provide feedback to the Sales Support Managers to promote growth and advancement
  • Assist the Sales Support managers in building and educating their teams for growth and advancement
  • Actively manage, maintain, and determine appropriate staffing levels to accommodate the business needs
  • Build culture in Sales Support team to one of accountability, partnership, and outstanding service
  • Actively manage the department’s budget
  • All other duties as assigned

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree Required. Advanced degrees preferred.

Basic Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience required in life insurance industry 
  • Life & Health Insurance License  
  • Series 6 and 63 
  • Work experience in Advanced case design and management roles  
  • Exceptional diligence and be able to ensure accuracy of information presented
  • Proficient Excel literacy
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information concisely

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Strong experience and knowledge with brokerage life insurance distribution
  • Familiar with Sales Force (CRM software) and data analysis
  • Advanced insurance designations (CLU, ChFC, CFP)
